THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN SOLD, SORRY FOR THE TROUBLE.~~~~ THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN SOLD, SORRY FOR THE TROUBLE.

127k miles
Modified or replaced stuff
Skyjacker Softride rear leafs, part # ?; rated at 2-4” lift. I got about 2.5” lift. (less than 3k on them)
New-ish clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing, master and slave cylinders (less than 3k on them)
New Quick-loc locker in the rear diff, front still open.
Rebuilt locking hubs 2k miles ago
New shifter seat bushing and gasket AND shifting lever that came new from the dealer.
Header on the engine.
ALL the fluids changed several times in the last few years
Aluminum 16x8 wheels
New-ish 34x10.5 Super Swamper LTB tires. 4k on them, half of the miles in dirt\mud, look nearly new still, except for small trail scars. Full sized spare included, it’s never been mounted tho.
Back ujoint on rear DS new about 1k ago.
3” Body lift with new high quality some-high-tech pucks and bolts. Although they are not all installed, I started replacing old, hard pucks from a previous lift but didn’t finish. About half are in.
1.5 “ Rear wheel spacers (I bought matching front too but forgot the locking hub, so the second set didn’t fit, none on the front).
Previous owner installed a Pioneer CD player and speakers, works pretty well, tho the install is really cheesy, using junk from his just pile, apparently.
Rancho 5000 shocks, including steering stabilizer. Rides rough.

Stock stuff –
22r engine (runs good, in fact, the best running of my 3 Toyotas).
5 speed manual tranny
4.56 gears (moves the 34” tires nicely, tho 5th gear is just about useless)
Sunroof (doesn’t leak, the cab is still water tight)
Sliding rear window.
Gauges include tach, water temp, oil temp, voltage and all work.
I think it has tilt steering wheel, now can’t remember for sure.
Frame seems solid, surface rust of course but no holes or cracks.

Bad things; Things in need of repair.
The Body – Most of the panels are either rusted or dented. All are still functional, though the drivers door is getting picky.
Passenger side floor pan has had a body mount bust thru due to rust. Haven’t fixed it yet, need a plate welded in. UPDATE: This is the worst thing about the truck, tho it could be repaired, a new floorpan would be best.
Heater\vent controls are screwed up. Not sure, something busted in the control panel?

Summary
This truck is fun on the trail. I bought it just over 2 years ago because I decided I needed something cheaper than my 2001 ZR2 to wheel the local floodplains in. I found this truck at a good price tho it did need a little work. So, I replaced a few things that needed replacing and have had a pretty good time wheeling it here in Iowa. Obviously, we don’t have mountains or rocks here so it’s all dirt\mud wheelin’.

The truck gets around great, especially with the new rear locker. I’m not going to say I didn’t beat on this truck. Sometimes I did and obviously, driving around trees in slippery mud is going to result in some body damage and that’s where all the dents came from. You know how you slide up against a tree and the only way to get off is to drive away, scraping down the whole side of the truck. I’ve done that several times.

The reason I’m selling is I now have 2, yes 2, 1985 4Runners. I’ve already built one of them up into a wheeler and now I need to try to recoup some of my money I spent on that.
Also, that pickup cab is just too small, I sometimes need to carry more than 2 people and that’s impossible in that truck.

Asking $2000 for the beast. If you’re close enough, come by and look at it and drive it. PM or email me.
